Job Description:
Position Summary
This Data Analyst role is essential to maintaining a
business-driven mindset among supported units, assessing KPIs and
providing programmatic recommendations. This position enables RDS
to continue to provide expanded support to all corporate
divisions.
Work Design
Works with team, independently, and under general direction from
manager. Identifies and recommends solutions to a variety of
routine and non-routine problems. Creative, strategic,
collaborative, flexible, adaptable, and political approaches are
essential in this position. Program administration will accompany
the creative and strategic responsibilities.
Position Accountabilities
- Serves as the data and business analytics manager for supported
internal programs.
- Contributes to the management of the Portfolio Evaluation
process.
- Assists with the development & tracking of KPIs as well as
providing programmatic recommendations based on trend
data.
- Manages and cleans data to prepare for analysis, review, or
reporting.
- Serves as a key data/research liaison to multiple
divisions.
- Supports the creation and curation of databases and dashboards
within the divisions to monitor and report constituent engagement
and other KPIs.
- Participates in other projects and endeavors as
assigned/needed.
Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in chemistry or data science
preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's
degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without
experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Candidate must be comfortable with exploring new technology and
able to learn it quickly.
- Knowledge of technology systems & data visualization tools
(i.e., Tableau) and programming languages (i.e., SQL,
Python).
- Experience or transferable skills that demonstrate the ability
to understand & communicate trends in chemical education.
- Data & performance management, data analysis & database
creation.
- Comfort with/ability to learn platforms to support data
management.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, written & oral communication
& organizational skills.
- Strong customer service skills for interaction with internal
stakeholders, students, governance committees, & stakeholders such
as donors.
- Cultural/global awareness and experience is highly
desirable.
