TITLE: SVP, Data Intelligence and TechnologyLOCATION: Flexible, Washington, D.C. Area PreferredBASE COMPENSATION: $200,000-$220,000ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is the nation's leading nonprofit dedicated to colorectal cancer. Together with a nation of passionate allies, we advocate for prevention, magnify support, and accelerate research to end this disease. Inequities in colorectal cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment among the most vulnerable communities continue to persist. Our programs are designed to put health equity first. We are working towards the ambitious vision of ending colorectal cancer in our lifetime. We plan to achieve this vision by:

  • investing and influencing $500 million in research while helping to drive the annual overall nationwide investment for colorectal research to $600 million annually by 2028.
  • building and serving the world's largest community and data set of colorectal patients to raise the five year survival of mCRC from 13% to 35%.
  • leveraging screening and prevention efforts to raise the screening rate to 80% and save 100,000 lives.Our strategic roadmap reflects an unwavering commitment to innovation, inclusivity, access and scalable impact in the pursuit of improved patient outcomes and groundbreaking scientific advancements.POSITION OVERVIEW:The SVP, Data Intelligence and Technology (SVP DIT) at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (CCA) will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive data and technology strategy to support the Colorectal Cancer Alliance's mission and ambitious goals. This includes overseeing all of the hardware, software, online platforms, data infrastructure, and data and analytics reporting functions for the organization. The SVP, DIT will report into and work closely with the COO to create and implement plans across all functions. The SVP, DIT will directly manage a growing team of at least 3 people to support innovation and optimize performance across the organization.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Team Leadership and Management (40%):
    • Build and maintain trusting relationships with team, leadership, Board of Directors, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Manage the current team of 3 direct reports. Oversee team operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
    • Support the Executive Team and the Board of Directors in continuing to build out future growth infrastructure, strategy, and approaches to technology and data management.
    • Lead processes to foster greatness in our culture and non-profit expertise.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation through the use of technology and data analytics.
    • Prepare and present regular reports to the executive team and board of directors on the performance of data and technology initiatives, including key metrics, achievements, and challenges.
    • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for the strategic use of data and technology within the organization and the broader non-profit sector.
    • Co-lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable technology solutions to support organizational goals, including but not limited to, CRM systems, data management infrastructure, cloud computing infrastructure, business intelligence tools, and digital platforms.
    • Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual technology operations planning.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and partners to ensure the successful implementation of technology initiatives and projects.Data Management (30%)
      • Co-develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy to collect, analyze, and leverage data to drive decision making and improve program effectiveness.
      • Establish and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
      • Provide strategic guidance and oversight on data privacy and security measures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
      • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement by providing training and support to staff at all levels.
      • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data management and analytics, and make recommendations for their adoption where appropriate.
      • Monitor performance with tracking software and take corrective measures when necessary. Prepare detailed updates and forecasts.
      • Develops and maintains partnerships that capture patient-level healthcare data that can be integrated into Alliance data management systems
      • Establish and maintain federated data governance policies.
      • Create and implement a data security and privacy plan that adheres to or exceeds HIPAA, HITRUST, and other applicable standards while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
      • Develop and maintain advanced analytics capabilities, including AI/ ML to support mission priorities
      • Develop a roadmap to extend the digital presence of the Alliance to facilitate connectivity to patients, caregivers, and survivors.REQUIREMENTS:The SVP Data Intelligence and Technology (SVP DIT) will be an experienced data and technology leader with at least 10 years of relevant work experience in a senior leadership role overseeing data management, advanced healthcare analytics (including AI/ ML), and technology operations, preferably in the non-profit sector. The SVP DIT must be energized by growth and show a willingness to try creative approaches to solve problems.The SVP, Data Intelligence and Technology will have the following experience and attributes:
        • At least ten years of relevant work experience, ideally in a nonprofit organization and/ or healthcare setting.
        • A minimum of a BA or BS; Master's degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field, strongly preferred
        • Deep understanding of Salesforce or a similarly complex CRM system
        • Experience working with Drupal or similar CMS systems. Hands-on design and development experience with modern data platforms/architectures such as Databricks, Data Factory, Data Mesh, Synapse, Data Lake, and Data Warehouse.
        • Strong project management skills, and experience managing complex projects
        • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful data and technology strategies that drive organizational growth and impact within a healthcare setting.
        • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, using metrics and KPIs to drive data-informed decisions
        • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
        • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model; enjoys taking ownership of and solving problems
        • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen understanding of how data and technology can be leveraged to solve complex challenges.
        • Ability to think strategically, and to effectively develop, communicate, and execute plans
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
        • Strong business acumen enabling strong working relationships with industry, academia, and healthcare organizations to get the desired outcomes.
        • Experience demonstrating flexibility and knowledge about how systems can interact between cloud and on-prem infrastructures.
