Senior Office Administrator (Washington DC)Sheppard, Mullin,
Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking an
experienced Senior Office Administrator based in the Washington DC
office. The Senior Office Administrator partners with the local
Office Managing Partner(s) to oversee the day-to-day operations of
the Washington DC office. Additionally, the Senior Office
Administrator fosters positive relationships with attorneys and
team members, while supervising, recruiting, and hiring practice
and operations support. This position is also responsible for
conducting annual performance reviews and preparing salary analysis
for the annual merit review process. The Senior Office
Administrator position reports to the Regional Director of
Administration and the local Office Managing Partner(s). The Senior
Office Administrator is responsible for overseeing all local
functions and services in support of the attorneys in the
Washington DC office. This includes facility maintenance and
operations; hiring, training, and supervision of practice and
operations support; event and function planning; accounting and
budgeting; vendor relationships and payments. The Senior Office
Administrator will coordinate with the Firm's business functions,
including Talent Management and Human Resources, Finance, IT,
Knowledge Management, Business Development, Security, and Practice
Economics Departments.Qualifications and Experience
- Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive management experience
overseeing the daily operation and administration of a professional
office environment, preferably in the legal or other professional
services industry.
- Experience in all aspects of management, including experience
in a professional services firm such as a law office.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with a
proven ability to produce results and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of
professionals, management, and professional staff, demonstrating
the ability to elicit cooperation, teamwork, and service in a
fast-paced environment.
- Fundamental knowledge and experience managing operational
departments such as marketing, finance, human resources,
technology, facilities, etc.
- Ability to identify issues, develop recommendations, and
implement solutions.Education and/or ExperienceA bachelor's degree
in human resource management is preferred or a related field (e.g.,
Business Administration, Management, Finance, Technology,
Marketing, Law, etc.) with appropriate management experience.
Substantial and relevant work experience may be substituted.License
and CertificationCLM, SHRM-CP, SCP, and/or PHR certification is
preferred, but not required.Computer/Software KnowledgeMust be
proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs and Adobe.
Proficiency with NetDocuments is preferred.Work Environment
- This position requires you to work physically in the office
Monday-Friday, with some flexibility.
- After-hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as
the workload requires.
- Long hours expected on occasion.Travel RequirementsUp to 10%.
Minimal domestic travel is required for meetings, retreats, and
conferences, as needed.Washington DC: The pay range for this
position is: $170,000 - $200,000 per year. Medical, vision, and
dental coverage is available, including coverage for dependents and
