Corus also provides a generous retirement plan and PTO to include vacation, sick, holiday, parental, jury, international travel, and bereavement leave; employer-sponsored basic life/AD&D insurance; employee wellness incentives, and employee work/life balance and assistance programs.Position Summary:The Director, Ethics and Compliance reports to the General Counsel and is responsible for leading and driving the organization's global ethics and compliance program. The Director understands the complexity of crisis in fragile country contexts and ensures the organization operates in adherence to legal standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies while fostering a culture of ethical behavior and accountability.The Director collaborates extensively with Internal Audit, Global Human Resources, country offices, and other departments and leaders across the global organization and engages with the Board's Audit and Risk and Finance Committees.Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic business partner across the global organization by providing oversight, direction, and support to the business and senior management by providing advice on the interpretation of rules and regulations.
  • Design, implement and manage an effective ethics and compliance framework including policy, processes and tools to ensure business activities comply with Corus' policies, donor rules, applicable government regulations and legislative requirements of the countries in which we operate.
  • Develop and conduct annual and ongoing ethics compliance training, education, and communication for staff, partners and suppliers.
  • Lead the Conflict of Interest and Gifts & Entertainment programs to ensure appropriate identification, evaluation, resolution and documentation of potential conflicts.
  • Manage and triage compliance concerns and reports received through Convercent hotline.
  • Conduct thorough, timely and objective compliance and policy related investigations and partner as needed with other areas such as Internal Audit, Human Resources and Legal. Develop corrective action plans to address identified issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Manage the Corus Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including the Corporate and Project Risk Registers.
  • Develop a network of liaisons who are responsible for ethics, compliance and risk across Corus organizations, and provide coaching, technical subject matter expertise and staff training.
  • Stay abreast of standards and requirements, including all relevant laws, rules and industry standards and company practices and provide timely communications to those impacted.
  • Help develop, improve, and maintain third-party risk management controls and associated policies and procedures.
  • Undertake special projects and support other initiatives as needed.Supervisory:
  • This role has no direct reports.Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years' progressively responsible and relevant experience; and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience must include managing ethics and compliance matters for a global organization receiving USG funding.
  • Experience conducting organizational investigations including ethics and policy violations a must.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in writing reports or similar documents to a professional standard.
  • Ability to develop effective presentations and training material for all levels within the organization including the ability to successfully present complex subject matter to Corus' Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Audit and Risk Committee, staff, and others.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong project management skills and analytical aptitude with good reasoning skills.
  • Ability to display strong interpersonal skills and interact in a professional and tactful manner.Preferred Qualifications:

    • Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required.
